It started as an ordinary February morning, but quickly became unforgettable. On 17th February 2025, our team at ReproPlanAI received news that we had been named a finalist in the ITU AI for Good Innovation Factory Pitch Competition. In that moment, excitement mixed with humility—we realized that the world was beginning to see what we had always believed: that artificial intelligence, when guided by compassion, could change the future of reproductive health in Africa.

For us, this milestone is more than an award—it is a validation of our belief that innovation, when guided by empathy, can save lives.

Harnessing AI for Real-World Impact

Every year, adolescent girls across Africa face difficult reproductive health challenges, many without access to confidential or reliable guidance. Too often, healthcare systems respond only after a crisis has already unfolded.

ReproPlanAI was designed to change that. By analyzing natural language patterns, our platform can detect early risk factors, connect users with safe contraceptive options, and even flag potential cases of gender-based violence. It is AI built not just for efficiency, but for protection, empowerment, and prevention.

Being recognized by ITU’s AI for Good initiative reinforces our conviction that technology can—and must—be used to address deeply human issues.
